The second day of USFL action wasn’t quite as clean as the first day. The weather, rainy and blustery, made things difficult for players and fans alike. Still, it was a day filled with excitement, albeit tempered slightly by delays and postponements. The first game of the day, a defensive battle between the Houston Gamblers and Michigan Panthers, was delayed for nearly an hour because of lightning. Once the game started, Houston was the early aggressor....

Ellis is quitting just weeks after leading the USA to a successful defence of the World Cup title, U.S. Soccer announced on Tuesday.
